"Portrait of a Buffalo"
I took this photograph in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Buffalo are well equipped to handle extreme cold, but that week was incredibly hot, with daytime highs over 100 degrees. Even with their thick dark coats, they didn’t seem to be adversely affected by the heat.
